Description

Finca El Ángel was acquired by Rafael Jr. in December of 2022. We had been working at the mill with this farm from 2022 to 2023. This farm was acquired by the Mathies family in 2016. It was only land, no coffee being produced before, and they started cleaning up the land
and planting coffee trees focusing 100% on specialty coffee varieties in 2018. 2021-2022 was its first harvest and the 2022-2023 harvest was its second. After being able to try the coffee from the first harvest, Rafael then decided he wanted this farm for him. He started
negotiating with the owner and came to an agreement that was
favorable to all parties and will now start working the farm up to
reach its maximum potential.

This farm is located high in the Santa Ana volcano, land which is very commonly known for its unique cup quality and characteristics. The 5 varieties it currently has are the ones that
will continue being conserved in this farm. The flowering period is from April to June while the harvest is from December to March. The farm can process the coffee in various ways such as Washed, Semi Washed, Honey, Natural and even some experimental processes.

This lot is personal selection by Rafael Jr. Pacamara, a mix of
Maragogype and Pacas, is prized for its large cherries.
